Day's arms - a young international holiday, celebrated on January 21 and December 4, and, if in December called the international day, in January, the National, which decided to embrace. According to the traditions of the holiday, to conclude a friendly hug can even strangers.
Day appeared in the 70-ies of XX century, took in students of Western European youth, but the exact circumstances of its occurrence are unknown. That day the boys and girls concluded in its embrace each other without any intimacy motive. By a peculiar "belief", while a friendly hug people share warmth.
There are "scientific" justification for the usefulness of hugs: friendly touches enhance immunity, stimulate the central nervous system, increase in blood hemoglobin levels, as well as another hormone - oxytocin, which causes sympathetic disposition towards others.
In the original, that's over two holiday: National Day of arms (English National Hugging Day) is celebrated on 21 January and 4 December the International Day of arms (English International Hug Day).
